Types of Decision

  • Decline submission - After peer review, the manuscript is determined to be unsuitable for publication in UBMRJ. This decision is based on considerations such as relevance to the journal’s scope, scholarly quality, or compliance with publication standards.
  • Resubmit for review - The manuscript, in its current form, is not acceptable and requires substantial revision. However, the study demonstrates promise, and UBMRJ is willing to evaluate a thoroughly revised version. Authors may resubmit the manuscript as a new submission. Acceptance will depend on whether the revised paper adequately addresses the reviewers’ and editors’ concerns and meets the journal’s scope and quality requirements. When possible, the resubmitted manuscript will be handled by the same Managing editor.
  • Revision - The manuscript requires specific revisions before a final editorial decision can be reached. Authors are requested to revise the paper in response to the comments provided by the reviewers and editors and to submit the revised version within the specified timeframe. A detailed, point-by-point response to the reviewers’ comments must accompany the revised manuscript. Revised submissions may be subject to additional rounds of review. Failure to satisfactorily address the required revisions may still result in rejection.
  • Accept submission - The manuscript is accepted for publication, subject to the completion of final editorial requirements. These may include minor revisions, copyediting, and formatting adjustments to ensure full compliance with UBMRJ standards. Once all requirements are met and final checks are completed, the manuscript is formally accepted and scheduled for publication.

The UBMRJ ensures that all reviewed manuscripts are handled with confidentiality prior to publication and in accordance with publication ethics.
